WHO THIS IS
Before I started fixing the boxes I spent years on the road as a Caterpillar and Cummins diagnostic technician, working engines across the country. When the ECM itself was the problem there was nobody to send it to who really understood it, so I made that my job. I taught myself the electronics, spent years studying these controllers down to the board level, and built the shop and the bench tools around it. I know INSITE and Cat ET the way a tech knows them, not the way a manual describes them, and I already support a number of shops remotely. This page just makes it easy to book.
HOW IT WORKS
- Pick an open hour below and fill in what you are working on. Engine, ECM part number, what software and adapter you have, the codes, what you have tried.
- Pay the $250 through Square. Your hour is held for 30 minutes while you pay.
- At the booked time I call you and get on your laptop with TeamViewer. We read the data together, work the fault tree, and I tell you what to test and what the result means.
- If it turns out the ECM is the problem, send it in and the $250 comes off the repair. Code is in your wrap-up email, good for 60 days.
WHAT TO HAVE READY
- Laptop with INSITE or Cat ET installed and your datalink adapter connected to the truck
- TeamViewer installed (free, teamviewer.com). I send the connection code when I call.
- Good cell signal or a landline at the truck
- The fault codes written down, and the truck's engine serial number
- Fifteen minutes before the call, have the truck keyed on and the software talking to the ECM
WHO IT IS FOR
Shops and fleet techs working on Cummins and Caterpillar engines who have the software and the truck in front of them. If you are an owner-operator broke down on the shoulder without a laptop, this is not the right tool. Call the shop and we will point you somewhere.
PRICING
- One hour: $250, paid when you book
- Need more time: $125 for each added half hour, billed after the call
- ECM comes to our bench: the full $250 is credited to the repair
- Cancel 24 hours or more ahead for a full refund. Inside 24 hours the hour is yours whether you use it or not.
